An Awards Show Like No Other: The Evolution of the Hustle Awards

When the Hustle Awards launched in 2020, the world was in the middle of a global standstill. Despite the timing, the brand made an immediate impact. Strong visual identity and confident positioning allowed the awards to debut with style, even in a year defined by uncertainty, it launched entirely virtually. With webinars and promotions of winners held throughout the month of July.

In 2021, we managed to host the event, small, and in-person with wristbands. In its first year it sold out and had 100s joining online to celebrate the winners.

By 2022, the event had outgrown its original home and moved to a new venue. This milestone became the catalyst for a full creative overhaul. The now-iconic punk-inspired pink and blue palette was introduced, shaping everything from stage visuals to digital assets with the support of a second creative agency. Videos, newsletters, social campaigns, and sales decks all carried the refreshed identity, creating a cohesive experience that resonated with both entrants and attendees. The result: hundreds of submissions and a sold-out event.

Hosted at the Steel Yard, attendees celebrated in style and shared their experiences with the event, and for three consecutive years, the Hustle Awards has had tweaked branding aligning still to the venue and clientele.

In 2025, the Hustle Awards enter their next chapter. A new venue brings a new direction, this time shifting the aesthetic towards a brighter, more summery feel and bringing all the creative content generation internally. The redesign marks another step in the brand’s evolution, reflecting the energy and ambition of the startup community it represents.
